FENCING
1. Injury to eyes / face.
Major injury Wear fencing mask. Improbable Insig
2. Bruising.
Major Injury All participants including Instructors to wear long trousers, enclosed footwear,
fencing jacket and a glove if fencing.

3. Slip / fall Major Injury Ensure any spillages are mopped up.
All footwear securely fastened.

4. Strain / sprain Minor Injury Session should include a warm up game.

5. Dehydration / fatigue Major Injury Ensure the group take breaks and fluids between duels especially in warmer
weather.

6. Equipment fault Fatality Instructor checks all equipment before the session. If a foil loses its button,
ensure it is replaced, if it snaps it is taken out of service.

FIELD GUN RUN
1. Entrapment of fingers or limbs Major injury Gloves to be worn. Risk disclosure, reaching through wheels and sprung pins.

2. Slipping, tripping Major injury The run must be over be over flat grass, the course should be checked for
obstructions and any rabbit holes etc filled prior to the run. Long sleeves and
trousers to be worn. Risk disclosure; correct placing around gun on ropes and
purpose of back ropes.

3. Being run over by the gun Major injury Risk disclosure: Back ropes to stop gun in the event of a fall.

4. Muscular / back injury Major injury Risk disclosure, correct lifting technique.

5. Gun parts dropped on feet Minor injury Shoes to be worn no open footwear.
