10. Rescue Fatality
First action in all instances is to radio Charlie 3 for support.
A rescue will only be carried out by a competent staff member.
The safety of the instructor and the rest of the group is paramount. If an
instructor is required to ascend the wall, then there must be substantial
supervision at the bottom of the wall, and a competent belayer is required to
spot them on the rope.
If leaders offer to assist the climber, then this is a preferential option.
If an instructor is involved in a rescue, other climbers should be lowered to
the ground before a rescue is initiated.
If a rescue has been effected, an incident report must be written

11. Klippa System Fatality The instructor must be satisfied that participants have demonstrated that they are
competent and confident using the Klippa safety system on the ground practise
level before they ascend the high ropes traverse.

12. Descent from Zip Platform Fatality An instructor will be stationed at the landing platform to safely assist the client in
being lowered to the ground.
A backup overhand knot must be tied in the dead rope above the Gri Gri before a
participants goes down the zip wire.

14. Stabilizing Legs and Base of Wall Major injury Protective padding will be placed around the stabilizing legs before climbing
commences.
On setting the tower, ensure the height on the adjusting legs are to the minimum
height (ground conditions allowing)

16. Strong Winds Fatality The climbing tower should, wherever possible, be positioned facing the wind.
In strong wind conditions (Force 4 and above) the wall should not be erected.
